The poles are powder coated, resulting in a much more durable finish than wet paint. The lacquer is applied as a powder that adheres to the pole by means of static electric charge then cured by heating. No hardener. No toxins. The powder coating we use is specially developed for us and the specific requirements we have on the poles to withstand extreme temperature changes, strong sunlight and tough impacts. The method also causes a minimum of waste compared to the wet coating as the excessive powder can be collected and reused. On top of this, it requires no solvents in the handling of the paint, eliminating the risk of extensive damage to the environment.

When it comes to the bamboo poles we have developed another methodology for coating that better fits a living material like bamboo. We use an organic line-oil based lacquer. We have developed a unique color scale to keep the unique identity of Kang.
